Each person in the firm is listed with their cards and courses, each with its number and expiry. A RAMS takes its workforce from the register.
The training matrix: cards, courses and expiry dates
People down the side and card types across. Each cell gives the card's expiry month and year. A card that has expired, or expires within 90 days, is coloured and says how many days are left.
The card list covers CSCS, CPCS, NPORS, CISRS, IPAF, PASMA, SMSTS, SSSTS, first aid, temporary works, asbestos awareness, abrasive wheels, manual handling, COSHH awareness and the CITB health, safety and environment test. Any other card or course can be typed in. An issue date suggests the usual expiry; the date on the card is the one kept.

Adding a worker to a RAMS
Pick a person, then their cards. Cards in date start ticked. An expired card starts unticked, and if ticked it prints with its date, so the reader can see it has lapsed.
The RAMS keeps the cards as they were when added. Renewing a card later does not change a RAMS already written.
